saptakoteshwar Temple in Narve

Saptkoteswar temple which was build by kadamba dynasty, to honnor their family deity. Which was than shifted Adilshahi territory that is from Divade to Narve. because of portuguese captured  and distributed number of  temples . The Saptkoteshwar  temple at  Narve,Goa is considered to be one of the six great sites of temples of lord shiva in the konkan  area. Saptkoteshwar, a form of shiva, was one of the chief deities  of the kings of the kadamba dynasty around  12 th centuary. The temple was built by  the king for his  wife Kamladevi who was a staunch devotee of this god . In 1352 when the kadamba kingdom was conquered by the Bahamani  Sultan Allauddin Hasan Gangu , Goa come under the rule of Adilshah .

The temple is  beautifuly  designed with European style  mandapa ,or assembly hall and there is a beautiful Deepastamba . It may be an important, jain temple patronised by the kadamba rulers. it was my priviledge ti visit saptakoteshwar temple . I have visited this temple  when i was in 12th as it was my part of history field trip. Above  said in formation was told my history by teacher.
